New ESS4 data release

The second edition of data and documentation for ESS round 4 was released 17.12.09.

Edition 2.0 includes Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Parents' occupation files have also been released for the countries included in edition 2.0 of the main data file (listed above).

ESS round 4 includes rotating modules on the topics: Welfare attitudes in a changing Europe and Experiences and Expressions of Ageism.

ESS Round 4 − 2008

The ESS4-2008 Edition 2.0 was released on 17 December 2009. Please see Version notes for complete information.

The ESS4-2008 main questionnaire is made up of the core module and two rotating modules: Welfare attitudes in a changing Europe (section D in the questionnaire) and Experiences and Expressions of Ageism (section E). See introductions to the modules.
